Lamb Energy is proud to sponsor Project REV (Revitalizing and Empowering Villages), which is working to provide aid as well as sustainability to the village of Bilidoj, India. This project consists of a group of four students from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) who are striving to decrease the amount of malnourished people in this area. The group will be working alongside the Real Medicine Foundation (RMF), which is an organization dedicated to providing humanitarian support to people living in disaster, post-war, and poverty-stricken areas.
Project REV will implement a variety of measures to improve the living conditions of Bilidoj by creating a long-term solution to malnutrition. Their goals include the following:
By taking these steps, Project REV will give Bilidoj the resources they need to combat the hunger epidemic. Project REV will empower Bilidoj to fight malnutrition on their own. Rather than simply put a band-aid on the wound of malnutrition, Project REV will provide a means to heal it for years to come through sustainable solutions.
Lamb Energy is providing Project REV with funding for malnutrition education, biomass equipment, and a compost tumbler. The education will allow Bilidoj to set up community self-help groups to run all of the project's implementations. The biomass gasifiers will be used as sources for sustainable cooking gas. These energy systems convert agricultural waste into combustible gas, which can be used for distributed power, cook stoves, or transportation. The compost tumbler will provide a sustainable way to turn organic waste into a valuable resource to fertilize soil.
